So far my week

God, this past week went fast, full of personal events. From anniversary celebration, catching up with friends. It's been fun. I hope your week has been full of great events and people. Below a few images of what I did this week.

always fresh flowers.

A bathroom worth to pay a visit to

Sweets

An always lit fireplace.

Moi, Balenciaga and a NYC walk

A chic entrance

Flowers and a good coffee...among many other great things, is what I wish you this weekend. Thank you for your visits.

Real Bookcases

I know that homes featured in magazines need to be stylized for photo shoots and many times bookcases in those homes end up looking more like a fantasy than real functional bookcases. I personally prefer to store my books by subject rather than by color, although I have to admit I'm more interested in proportions. For instance, I dislike to see a short book next to a tall book. Some people go as far as to cover their books with matching paper, not sure how they find a book when they need it. Happily for me, I've been spotting more real-looking bookcases in magazines. I hope real display, like the ones in these images below, become a trend in magazines. After all what is a real home for, if not for everyday convenient-living?

Closets that are also offices

Although I can't picture myself working or sleeping surrounded by clothes, I can't ignore the functionality and beauty of these two spaces.

I love bows

An art to make on its own...they're feminine and sumptuous. That's why I love bows.

Beautiful Vignettes

From fresh flowers reflecting on a burst mirror..... to skinny sculptural horses on a side table..... to African mask and textiles in a bathroom...The options to decorate small spaces are infinite, yet make such a difference.

In honor of Fashion Week & getting pretty

Rushing after getting my hair done which is not as much for luxury as it is for necessity. Pedicure and manicure... those were treats. Tonight, it's a very special night.

Polkat dots and 4 beautiful years

Remembering how four years ago we got married. In the middle of an Island, between families and friends, laughter and tears, dances and masquerades we were planting the seeds of fruitful years to come.

Beautiful ways to use polka dots.

Allure Tropical

Yesterday was such a nice day with temperatures around the 50's. Today, it's a completely different story. Cold and windy. So I'm getting inspired by these very tropical images from Brazil. I can't tell you how much I'd love to be in a town just like this one. A girl can dream...

Estefanía Carrero at Home

Last week when I posted about my mirrored wall I received a few emails from friends and readers who loved one of the images I had posted (first one below) Today, I think it will be fun to talk a little bit about the house. This is the Madrileña-home of the Interior Designer Estefania Carrero and Antiquarian Alejandro Fauquié. They broke down a few walls to let in natural light and filled up the space with vintage pieces from the 40's and 70's. Some of the pieces are designed by Estefania & Alegandro themselves. The entire floor is covered with seagrass carpet which unifies all in the apartment, making the overall atmosphere of glamor and sophistication look more natural and casual.
