Beach Bookcase Inspiration

I am in need of a new bookcase for my basement. My boys are serious readers and it seems we are being over run with books. They also have a hard time departing with their books. When buying new furniture, I like to take my time and search through all available options. Here is what I have found in my search for beach style bookcases:
Coastal Living Magazine shows us a built-in beach bookcase. I like the use of baskets, but I'm going to skip a built in. (My husband thanks me. )
I like these two bookcases from Cottage & Bungalow, but they are a bit pricey.
I'm sure I could turn this bookcase with wicker baskets into a cool beach one. I like the size and the price is good!

Isn't this an awesome looking palm tree bookcase? It definitely deserves a place in a Hawaiian style home.

This Coastal Living bookcase is nice looking and comes in a variety of colors.
Of course, how could I go wrong with a Tommy Bahama bookcase?

Target's has this affordable white bookcase that just needs jazzed up with some baskets.
I want to hear what you think. Which beach bookcase is your favorite?

DIY Beach Glass Picture

Summer is winding down and perhaps you have collected your fair share of beach glass. Over at the website called One Pretty Thing, there is a neat tutorial on how to create a beach glass picture. After viewing the tutorial, my mind is racing with all kinds of ideas on how to take the same concept to decorate cards, gift boxes, fabric bags, canvas shoes and much more!

Custom Beach Bedding

I found an awesome idea for you. Turn your own beach photos into custom beach bedding. Or, choose from over 500 stock beach photos to turn into your favorite bedspread. This is a fun way to share your own photos year round. I love this idea for dorm rooms! They come in twin-king sizes. If using Vision Bedding's in stock photos, search for such terms as beach, hawaii, surf, palm, ocean, tiki, flip flop and more.
The ideas don't stop at custom beach bedding. You can also turn the stock photos or your custom photos into baby blankets, blankets, pillows, posters, wall art, wall murals, and wall stickers. This is one cool idea. Shop now at
Vision Bedding.

Tropical Photo Cards

Today I was looking at tropical photo cards and looking for unique ways to display beach pictures. We usually send out tropical Christmas photo cards and I am always looking for designs I love. Here are a few of my favorites:

I love the way this palm tree photo card is so simple, yet it compliments the sunset and shows off the family.

This offset Polynesian photo card lets your picture be the star. It comes with matching envelopes.

Seashell frames always look terrific around a beach photo.

A hot hot book

Some of you may have already heard about Bringing Home the Birkin. I read this book over the weekend and anything I say about it would not be enough. It's funny, young, light and keeps you interested from start to end. Michael's adventurous and lucky move to Barcelona opened a whole new fabulous career no one had ever considered before; country hopping around the world in pursuit of the rich and famous "it" bag. This book is entertaining; after reading it I'm almost certain that the so famous waiting list for a Hermes Birkin does not exist, or does it?

"The summer's most adorable chick-lit book...smart, fizzy, and amusingly snarky, with attitude to burn" -NEW YORK TIMES

"The prose is vivid, the tone lighthearted. Mr. Tonello comes off as...sassy, plucky, optimistic-oh, and he can get you a Birkin." -WALL STREET JOURNAL

And you may be asking what's the point of this post, well this book was so much fun that I wanted to share it with you by giving it away to one of my lovely readers. All you need to do is, if you are a blogger go into your dashboard to the left lower corner and add this humble blog to your followers, I may even be already following yours. If you are a reader leave me a comment and the lucky winner will be announced on Monday the 24th.
